Here we are at the very end of March - ok, it's actually April but this is the last week of March, so yeah.
It's been a fairly uneventful week other than my youngest being sick with a really bad ear infection which has taken all of my time. I added lots of doodles and some Dylusions stamps to help fill in the gaps.
Because we're at the end of the month, I get to add my "What I Accomplished this Month" page! It's been a pretty eventful month and I couldn't be happier with what I managed to get done.
I really haven't collected anything this month to go in my Monthly Pocket Picks so I opted to change that particular element to something a little different.
This "Noteworthy" pocket is from the pocket set I've been using all month. I don't know who it's by, I only know I found it at Hobby Lobby - probably on clearance. I added three of the DLP lists I printed on manila card stock to my pocket, punched a hole in the corner, added a painted reinforcer and a pretty ribbon.
The lists are "Loving This" - current favorite art supplies, "This Stuff" - my current top priority wish list, and a blank list I titled "Challenges" - current favorite artsy Challenges that I am participating in this year.
It's a pocket - they're picks. I think it works!
This week's PAC challenge was "Celebrating White Space". If you're familiar at all with my art work you will know that I am completely unable to leave white space at all. I truly struggle with it!
I started with a sheet of bristol and stamped my small gelli plate randomly. I then added some white back into my very colorful page. I added dots of fluorescent pink using a foam texture plate. I am loving using that texture plate! It's one of a set a friend gave me and it is perfect! After everything dried, I added scrapped a little black here and there and stamped the large ledger stamp here and there. Once all of that was dry, I used White Linen Dylusions paint to stencil through my favorite Zinnia stencil. I let that dry and did it a second time for more a more opaque white.
I found a jar of Glass Bead Glitter Gel on clearance at Michaels and had never used it before. I figured it was white on a white base and would add some interesting texture. I let that dry for several hours and then cut up that big beautiful sheet of yummy artsy goodness! I'm getting so brave! It was a struggle I admit. I started to leave it as it was and use it for a divider but I was good and stuck with the plan!
I picked out four of my favorites and added a few word stickers. Some are Tim Holtz Small Talk and the others are Tiny Text by Cosmo Cricket.
I took one of the Bo Bunny Page Protectors (the one with four ATC sized slots) and slipped in two pacs per pocket back to pack. There was a little space left over so I decided to edge my page protector and fill in the remaining space around the PACs with strips of art paper by Crowabout Studio B. I used my Photo Fuse tool to seal in all my bits.
I know it's kind of hard to see my PACs in the page protector so I've included a picture I unbelievably remembered to take before permanently putting them in their new home! I think these are my favorite bits of art I've created all year! And the awesome thing is I still have several more atc/pac sized pieces to use in something else. Yay!
That was my March! I hope you had a good one and I'll see you back here next week for April!
