Art Journal Page - Make a Wish

Welcome everyone!  Today I'm sharing another one of those "left over" DLP 2015 pages!  I'm seriously working on some faces in these pages as well as different backgrounds, etc.  Trying to stretch my wings a little further.  I'm not going by any prompt or challenge... just creating something that makes me happy!  Let me just tell you... this darling girl makes me super happy!

After the initial sketch, she was painted in using Neocolor II's.  One of these days I will stop using those things so much but it won't be any time soon.  These things are awesome!  The dots on her dress are Peacock Feathers Distress Ink through Tim Holtz's layering stencil, "Bubble".  The pink background was also made initially with a Neocolor II called "Purple".  It's really a beautiful magenta.

I used White Linen Dylusions Paint and a Honeycomb stencil to create the polka dots.  I used a Stabilo All Pencil smudged to create definition between my girl and the background.  I then dry brushed Bahama Blue & Titanium White around.  Once everything was dry I added some pink circles using Bubble Gum Dylusions Paint and highlighted those with Titanium White.  I added a bunch of Bubble Gum paint splatters as well.  Using my Mini Distress Tool and Bubblegum Pink, I created three circles.  Once they dried I added highlights of Titanium White and doodles with a black Stabilo.

Her crown is made from a vintage dictionary page and colored with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.  Again, I used a black Stabilo to doodle.

"Make a Wish" is from the "Words" Remnant Rubs by Tim Holtz.  And since I seem to be in a very "glittery" mood - rather unusual for me... I added some sparkled to my doodled circles, her eye lids, and her crown with some white glitter glue by Studio G (Michaels).

My youngest daughter calls this girl my "mermaid".  I'm not sure where the connection comes from (where's her tail?) but I guess she could be.  I like to think of her as my "birthday girl".

Those empty pages are getting fewer and fewer!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for another page!

In the meantime, I'm starting to put my DLP 2016 unPlanner together.  I just don't see how two little ol' binders are going to cut it so I have a feeling I will be buying several more!  I'm not a planner girl at all.  It's not something that has really interested me before but I like the fact that the unPlanner will be so artsy.  We'll see how it goes!

Until then,
