ATC Monday - "Barn Animals"

Good morning and happy Monday everyone.  I know.  It's Monday.  After Halloween.  It's supposed to be a drag!  But think of it this way... only 52 days until Christmas!  Yes indeed... that is only seven little ol' weeks!  You may begin to panic..................................... now!!!

Me, I don't do the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.  I sit my little ol' tail at the house and shop online.  Really, that is the ONLY way to do it these days.

But you aren't here for a mini panic session over how short the year has gotten; you're here to see what sort of ATC I've got for you this week!  So I'll quit babbling and get right to it.

This week's ATC theme is "Barn Animals".  Don't ask me... I don't pick the swap theme, I only participate.

I'm on a super massive Dylusions kick this year (as if you couldn't tell) and this ATC is not the exception.  I used the birds from the Dylusions "How Does Your Garden Grow" because they look a little like chickens to me.  The background is of course Dylusions and I stamped the flowers in the background with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink.  The flowers are from the same Garden stamp set as my "chickens".  I used Distress Ink in Peeled Paint to stamp the leaves and then colored them in using a waterbrush and the same Peeled Paint.  To brighten my chickens, I used the Dylusions "bleaching" technique.  That is just such a cool and effective technique!

I added a few bits of scattered "corn" at the bottom with a yellow Souffle pen, added the words "cluck" and a little heart to finish.

I think they turned out rather cute.  Simple and effective!

Well there y'all go.  A bright and cheery start to your week.  I hope you have a great one and don't panic so much about Christmas.  It'll all be ok.  (yeah I know.  It's because I'm starting to freak out just a little too!  And the local stores aren't helping as they're already in full Christmas mode!)
