Hi everyone! Happy Monday. I love Cyber Monday. I get to sit at home in my PJs and just enjoy the day. Sometimes I even do some shopping but not this year. This year, I've already done half of my online shopping and I'll get around to the rest later this week. Then I'll have to venture into the stores. Yuck!
Anyway... On to today's post. Tomorrow is the first day of December and that of course starts the #30 Days of Lists challenge. I have been furiously working on getting my journal made and I'm nearly there. I've at least finished the front cover and the first page. Hopefully I will be able to get a lot more done tonight.
For this journal, I decided to have a completely Dylusional Christmas. I love the quirky funky stamps and stencils and of course y'all know how much I love my Dylusions paints and inks. There is a products list at the end of this post showing all the stuff I used to construct this little journal. The only thing not Dylusions is what I used to color my collage elements - I used my Inktense pencils for that.
The rest of the pages I haven't completed yet. But I have stamped, fussy cut, colored, and chosen all of my collage elements - at least my characters and chosen which ones will be on which page. I have lots more elements and stamping/stenciling that I will be adding.
My journal is 6 x 9" and comprised of Mixed Media paper from a 9 x 12" Canson Mixed Media paper pad.
There are two signatures. Each signature has four pages. There are two similar pages which include ghosting/stenciling of each color scheme.
To decorate each page, I used them whole - before folding and binding. I sprayed inks on one side of each of the eight pages and used paints on the other side.
After folding each page in half, I added Tim Holtz Tissue Tape to the middle on both sides to help protect the paper from the binding.
To bind, I used a simple pamphlet style stitch with waxed thread used for bracelets I found at Walmart.
The button washi tape you see on all my figures is just to hold the elements in place while I go through and glue them all.
I've tried to use heads and bodies from different stamp sets to create unique and funky characters.
I'm so excited for tomorrow's list! I have done the March and September editions of this challenge this year and they have been such a blast! I have flipped through my journal from these past challenges and they just make me smile!
I will be posting daily lists on Instagram and will be posting here weekly. I know the holidays can be super crazy but I hope y'all will join me or at least enjoy looking at mine.
Have a happy and safe December y'all!
