WOYWW - Edition Catch Up
Happy Wednesday my lovely Desk-Hoppers! (Don't know what a desk hopper is? Hop on over to Julia's and find out!)
I'm just going to jump right on in. I am playing catch up (still - and probably for the rest of the year) in my Documented Life Project Journal. I'm skipping around doing the prompts that speak the most to me and this week it seems to be August and faces. Remember last week's desk with the sketch of this crowned lady? I told y'all you wouldn't see her again. Well it seems the muses had other plans. I re-worked my sketch a little bit and now I love her! I will take pics of her later today and upload her to her very own post tomorrow but y'all get the first sneak peek!
Anyway. You're here for the desk. Cups of pretty purple paint water. Those were wonderfully clean and clear when I started today! My journal of course. Paints and brushes to the right. I'm actually done for the night and for some reason my station is really quite clean this go round. Two journal pages in two days and my desk is tidy(ish)? It's because I'm limiting myself on supplies used!! Really working on my skin tones and shading so I'm using mainly my Inktense pencils and Neocolor IIs. Means I have a tidy-ish desk with not a lot of clutter slung around!
Now we pan over to the other side...
Even this table isn't particularly messy! My Neocolor IIs are sitting on top of my Inktense pencils. My list of DLP pages I'm catching up is under the ruler. The gap between struck through and non-struck through pages is closing up! I'm really hoping to get at least two more of those prompts - one from August and this current one finished by Friday! Just for the record though - I have 15 prompts to do out of a list of 24. I'm determined!!! By the end of this year I will be all caught up. And I only have eleven weeks to do it in! Yikes! My goal is three make ups a week plus the current one. That should take me only five weeks. Wish me luck!!!
Anyway. Back to the desk. Stencils and my brayer and a paint brush are still out as well. Oh... and dead center.. that cellophane wrapped object? An oatmeal cream pie. One of my favs! Have to keep myself going somehow.
That's all I've got for y'all this week! Thank you all who commented last week. Y'all are too sweet!
See ya next time!

ReplyDeleteThank you Zo!
DeleteI'm doing the exact same thing with LifeBook, Brenda! I missed 6 months between March and September and now I'm skipping around doing whichever lesson takes my fancy, as well as trying to complete the current week's lesson. I'm hoping I'll be able to ctach up by the end of the year, to start again in 2016! I had to give up on DLP because it would have been too much, but I might try again next year. Love your page with the face - I'm working on shading of faces as well! I'm hoping one day, if I practise enough, it will just click and I can do them naturally. At the moment it's still very much a hit and miss afair! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #36
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the luck in the world Zsuzsa! I'm hoping to do LifeBook next year. My hubby asked me what I wanted for Christmas and the only two things I want are LifeBook and Wanderlust classes. Between those 2 I might not be able to manage DLP as well. But we'll see.
DeleteShading faces really does take practice. I do it very similar to how Tam does it with a little bit of Wyanne's technique thrown in. I'm still working on practicing too and it does get a little bit easier every time. Don't give up!
Ohh biccies, now you have to have those on your desk don't you, most important to keep the body fed whilst crafting!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the storage on your desk, you are soooo neat and tidy and your journal page is beautiful. Good Luck with it all.

Tidiness is relative! Some days it's better than others!!! Thank you dear!
DeleteOh my, she turned out beautifully - I'm so glad you went back for a second look! You must be a bit chuffed! Also a bit chuffed about desk tidiness too - not only keeps your desk tidy, but I think limiting your supplies means that you keep your focus and time on the piece instead of hunting about through the stash!
ReplyDeleteThanks Julia! I really am chuffed! :) I do seem to be getting quite a bit more done when I'm not constantly sorting through which supplies to use!
DeleteOooh look at all those paints and pieces and pretty colors--I've got some time set aside to play tomorrow, but you've got me wishing it were today!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW, Brenda Lee!
