WOYWW - What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Deskers!!!  I promised a much better and messier desk last week and I think I've delivered.  What you're seeing here is a conglomeration of some family crafting time!  Technically this is Tuesday's Desk.  I have to clean it all up before my student gets here and I always forget to take a picture, so I made sure I took one yesterday!

Where the massive mess is spread everywhere is obviously my station.  There is some art journaling in the works going on there.  I'm playing with my new Dylusions paints.  And Oh My Stars!  It's lovely stuff!!  You can see a few stencils - including a handmade one down front, lots of paint and brushes, my brayer, some book pages, and the newest edition to my desk... that three-tiered spinner I found at Michael's on clearance Monday!  I've been wanting one of those for so long and I finally found one!  I still want to get two or three of the spinners from Harbor Freight - one for Dylusions, another for Distress, and another for something else... maybe my DecoArt Media paints.

You can see that I've laid down some brown craft paper (hello Dollar Store!) on my work table.  That will hopefully serve two purposes.  One - it will make lovely under paper to use as collage, and Two - it's non reflective so when I start making videos again, I won't get weird glares.  That's the hope any way!

Spilling over to the white table is some of my mess as well as coloring books and crayons.  My toddler likes to sit and color while I paint.  Of course, I encourage her to do so, but it also helps keep her from coloring the walls (doors, beds, furniture, floor, cabinets, windows, tvs, etc.!) if she sees Mommy coloring in a book too!

Across from my station is my husband's "crafting corner".  Eventually the plan is to put him in the Dining Room with his own desk so he can stay out of my studio.  I know he won't stay at his desk but will continue to come into my studio but at least he will have a space for his stuff.  Because quite frankly I don't have enough room for my stuff and his stuff too!  Those are Mason Jars he is Mod Podging tissue paper inside of.  He is making Garden Lights.  It's almost nice enough to actually go and spend time outside on the patio!  He's hoping to have the lights ready by then!

Well there y'all go!  My wonderfully messy desk.  Come back Friday for a full reveal of that journal page.  I'm actually getting my DLP page done for the week!  So far I haven't managed to actually catch up on any pages, but maybe I can get a little done here and there before December.

Being three o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, I thought I would add in an official "Wednesday" picture for y'all!  I did manage to clean the first mess up and finish that journal page before my student came and then promptly messed the whole desk up again after she left!

This time I'm not sharing my space (much - there are still crayons and coloring books that have been *cough* shoved out of the way or under) and I've spread way way out!  You can see a brand new page in my Documented Life Project Journal - this one is a catch up page from Week 18!  That new "underpaper" I laid down is serving me well already!  Well I'm off to bed - I hope.  That page can be finished tomorrow!

I hope y'all have a wonderful week!

  4. Those spinners look very useful and the journal page very promising. You're lucky to have a crafting hubby who (hopefully) understands your obsession. On the other hand, like you said, you have to share your studio with him! That's rather inconvenient, especially, if he's using your supplies! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #38

  5. Genius idea about the anti glare paper! I bet if your husband moves his stuff out, you'll miss each others company! I love how your desk changed overnight, and is still full of creativity. Gorgeous.
