What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday - Episode 330

Hi deskers!  I'm joining up with Julia again this week for WOYWW!  Ok so yes, this was taken Tuesday night.  You caught me!!  Now that that's out of the way, let's get on with the desk.

Messiness over here and messiness over there!

Here's a closer shot of the side table.  Stamping block, self-healing mat, ink, some inky stamped paper for cutting out, some over-spray catching newspaper, my Documented Life Project journal, and of course my pen pouch.

And here's a little craft haul from Michael's and Hobby Lobby!  Had lunch with my crafty besties and of course we had to hit the craft stores!  While there, I picked up some mini file folders, 1 inch circle punch, some calligraphy pens and nibs, orange embossing powder, a 7Gypsies numbers stamp, a kraft recipe card box, and two canvas wristlets.  As well as some Dylusions Spray - I did get some more Lemon Zest & Cut Grass but the rest I had.  The basket is new too!  And of course, there is my #30DaysofLists journal all filled up and complete!

That's it y'all for this week.  Sorry to post and dash but I've got to go find out what my two year old just did.  There was a loud crash and then a "MOMMY!!!!"  Gotta run!

Go check out more desks at the WOYWW link up!

We're coming very quickly to the last day of September (tomorrow!!).  This month has just flown by so quickly it hurts my head to think about it.  I've thoroughly enjoyed listing this month and I know that this will definitely become a permanent fixture in my year.  If you didn't join me this go round, maybe you'll join me in December!  Enough talk... on to the lists!

There ya have it!  Another week done and dusted!  You know what I love the most about listing, besides it really not taking that much time?  It makes you think!  It is very much like those "one word exercises".  You have to really think about what it is you want to say in as few words as possible.  I love it!

I'll be posting the last two lists on Thursday so y'all be sure to come back then.

ATC Monday - "Trees"

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." - Elizabeth Appell

Good Monday morning lovely readers!  Today's ATC is all about trees.  Yes, those little blobs of color are trees - impressionistic trees, but still trees!  The swap them was "Trees" and while yes, I could have used any one of my tree stamps, or drawn a tree, or some other boring tree themed card, I chose to make trees that are very indicative of me!

What do I mean indicative of me?  These cards are actually mini versions of a painting I did last year!  You can see the painting HERE.  I'm a little obsessed with Cherry Trees.

Anyway, the background is my beloved Dylusions Ink Sprays, the lone stamp is a doodle stamp by Suzi Blu (Unity Stamp Co.), and the trees are acrylic paint.

That's it for today!  While the earth is turning in it's yearly cycle, I'm thinking ahead to Spring!  Or maybe it's just the cooler weather I'm after.  If that's the case then Autumn will do quite nicely.  If and when it ever gets here.

Until then,

Art Challenge: Silhouettes

Journal Prompt:  There is no shadow without the light...

When I was little I was afraid of the shadows in my room at night.  I used to have this cat who would sit in the window every single night and I could always tell his shadow from the others.  It was very reassuring.  He would sit in the window and the light from the street lamp would give him just a glimmer around his outline.  I don't actually have a photograph of this, but I keep a mental photograph of it always.  So that cat (his name was Tiger) is the inspiration for this week's page.

Tiger the cat is actually painted in Prussian Blue rather than black.  The quote is by Ruth E. Renket and I thought it was highly appropriate for this page.  As long as I could see Tiger, I knew the shadows couldn't hurt me.

I used the following products on this page:

I hope y'all have a great week!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday - WOYWW - Surprise! Edition

Good morning my fellow deskers!  Let me appologize first and foremost for the grainy quality of my photos.  I could've turned on a light to take these rather than just opening the blinds but as my own eyes are only partially open and I'm trying to get this done before running out the door, this is what you get!

Surprise!  As you can see, I have changed my set up considerably since last week!  I realized that I kept shoving things forward and then I wouldn't be able to reach them.  It was driving me a little batty.  So this is a test set up.  I'm not sure it's going to stay this way but for now I kind of like it.  I need a spin-y desk chair now though.  This way too, y'all get to see a side of my studio previously unseen until now!  There is lots more to look at now.

Here are a few closer shots...

You can see the vague mess I was making on my main table here.  My doodles and scratches have grown on my underpaper!  Dirty paint water in that leaf... true sign creative things have been happening!  On the white table you can see my DLP journal opened to this week's challenge, my set of Gelatos, and a couple of stencils.

And here on my (new) side table, you can see a Cheap Joe's Art Stuff catalog (minus the cover as my tot got a hold of it first), my #30 Days of Lists journal... for those eagle eyed among you... yes it is actually turned to tomorrow's list.  I am working a little ahead in it this month.  Having gotten behind three times already I'm trying to be a list or two ahead.  At least in some of the doodles & extra bits.  The knit bits in the middle of the table are two of my slouch hats.  The Wee One was wanting to play a little dress up and how could I not oblige?  As you can see, I've added a second tiered spinner and reorganized the pair of them.  The one on the left carries my DecoArt products and the one on the right holds my Ink Sprays and Dylusions.

I'm linking up over at Julia's now, so if your curiosity hasn't been satisfied by my work space, I encourage you to hop over there and check out a plethora of other fabulous work spaces!

Have a great week everyone!
