WOYWW - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? Edition Crazy Town

Welcome to crazy town y'all!  It's been a while since I participated in WOYWW - not because I haven't been crazy busy but because I haven't had a steady internet source.  Now that's all worked out and I have entered the 21st century at my house I can participate regularly again.  Let's have a stroll around Crazy Town and I'll show y'all just what I'm talking about!

So my desk itself...

I know!  There's not actually anything on it except my computer at the moment.  That's because I haven't started pulling stuff out for the day.  I have to go to the grocery store first and if I start pulling things out I won't make it to the grocery store at all!

But wait!  There's more!

On the other side of the table behind my computer sits this little side project - a bunch of tins I'm going to reuse as storage in my studio.  Trying to get the labels and goo off.  They will hopefully get spray painted today.

And in the dining room, because frankly it just won't fit on my work desk is a beast of a corner media cabinet that I salvaged from the side of the road.  Hello storage!  This is a project I'm working on for DecoArt using their lovely Chalky Finish Paint.  Loving the paint - hating that I'm not finished yet.  But to be fair I only started on Monday and I haven't been going at it full tilt because I've had other things to do!  But it's coming along quite nicely.  One coat down and only one more to do.  Then waxing.  So two more steps.  Maybe I'll get it done tomorrow.

Oh and over here we have a collection of primed or waiting to be primed canvas bags of various sorts just begging for some paint.

And over here we have a collection of journals that I must get working on!

So that's my currently-in-progress collection of projects this week.  To see some more interesting desks hop on over to Stamping Ground and join in on the fun!

I'll be back next week and hopefully I will have managed to get something done!

Take care,

  1. Hi Brenda, great shots of your 'works in progress'. I take it you have recently moved house? The storage unit looks to be coming along just great.Have a great week, hugs. Shaz #5xxx

    1. Thanks Shaz! Yes I did recently move but to add to that, a friend of mine is downsizing her studio and I am the happy recipient. More stash requires more storage in my studio!

  2. You have lots of projects going on - looks awesome!

  3. Wonderful that you have internet access - I couldn't survive now without. Lots of interesting project you are working on - looking forward to seeing them completed. Have a great week. Soojay 23

    1. Sue, my hubby and I have an on-going war about internet vs. cable. I can't live without internet and he can't live without cable! I'm hoping to squeeze in some time to get things working between now and next month! There are never enough hours in the day.

  4. Glad to hear your internet is working.
    Happy OYWW!
    Tertia #24

    1. Thank you Tertia! I couldn't be happier about it myself!

  5. Technology is so wonderful when it works. Love your roadside storage find! Such lovely canvas bags : ). #59

  6. That's a lot of projects! I hope you haven't got a day job too. lol.
Internet access is such a pleasure and a privilege. We live out in the sticks and our internet connection is via radio signal. It's very slow and unreliable but it works!
I love your cabinet! We have a chalk paint called Annie Sloan. I swear by that when I have a project to paint. Please show us when you finish.
    Have a great week,
    Sorry I'm late in commenting,

    1. Thank you for commenting! You're not late... I always like getting comments. :D

I do have a day job! I work for a local college and we have students moving in this week - it's totally crazy. I don't think I will manage to find any time for my art for the next 7 days. Oh well - have to pay the bills somehow. ;)

My family just recently moved into town and this is the first time that we've been able to have high speed internet. We've never had it over radio signal before - didn't know you could do that! But we've had dial up, satellite, and tether through our cell phones before. All of which were not fun so I can totally relate.

I haven't tried Annie Sloan's paint before. DecoArt sent me some of their Chalky Finish Paint to try and so far I'm really liking it. I just need more of it!

Each comment, blog hug, or bit of love just makes my day so much brighter! I can't thank you enough for taking time out of your busy day to leave me a little message! :)
