Art Challenge:  Cheesecloth

Journal Prompt:  Say Cheese

So I know she's not on a boat in a river with tangerine trees and marmalade skies but the background definitely reminds me of a sky and so my cosmic little Lucy was born.  I started my background with Dylusions Ink Sprays and added some cheesecloth.  I used a Spray Adhesive to attach the cheesecloth to the page.  Diamonds were added using Cobalt Turquoise and a Crafter's Workshop stencil as well as the Tiny Circles by TCW in Carbon Black.  Miss Lucy was done on watercolor paper separately and then cut out.  I used my favorite Inktense and Neocolors to create her.  She was adhered using Heavy Gel Medium (by Golden).  I wanted to make sure she stuck not only to the cheesecloth - I'm still a little dubious as to the holding strength of the spray adhesive... it either hasn't fully cured or it never will.  I can pull the cheesecloth up if I try but otherwise it doesn't move.  I then used my Inktense pencils on mixed media paper for the stars.  I cut those out and glued them down using a glue stick.

I used a Bronze Sharpie Marker to write the words and I'm not real happy with it because there is just no way to write on top of cheesecloth and have it be nice and crisp.  Oh well.  Live and learn, I guess.  Other than the words I love everything about this page... even my floating head!  That's what I get for not figuring out where to cut before hand!

That's my share for the week.  Now I'm off for a little Beatles therapy.  See y'all next time!
