Journal Thursday - a Mendhi Inspired Peacock

Welcome back y'all for another Journal Thursday!  Today I'm sharing a little mendhi-inspired piece I did in my small Dylusions journal.

I started with a layer of Turquoise (Artist's Loft) brayered over a piece of turquoise polka dotted washi tape.

I then laid my 9x12 Dylusions "Bubbles" stencil over my page and sprayed Calypso Teal through the stencil.  Once that dried I took it outside and sprayed multiple coats of Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Sealer over the whole thing.  I didn't want my ink to smear too badly though my white pen.  This stuff is great for sealing both Dylusions and Distress inks.

Then it was time for my white pen to shine!  I used only my Uni-Ball Signo white gel pen and doodled like crazy!  I found tons and tons of inspiration on Pinterest and combined different designs to create my peacock.

I decided to go with a peacock because of the gorgeous turquoise blue background.  I love how the white pops.  It almost looks like a batik fabric.

Here are some close ups of my page:

Hope y'all enjoyed!  No go make some art!
