Graphic 45 Design Team Audition 2015

Hey y'all!  Welcome both loyal readers, new guests, and of course the folks from Graphic 45!  I am super duper excited to share some projects I've been working on as well as some old projects that I have created throughout the year.  I'm also excited (and nervous) to tell y'all a little about me.

Let's get started, shall we?

As you know, if you follow me anywhere, I am a fanatic for ATCs.  I started making them in March of last year and trading in May.  It's been a whirlwind experience.  It's easy for me to work large and I wanted to push myself past my own boundaries to work in the miniature.  I have fallen absolutely in love with these things!

Here are some ATCs I've made and links to their posts:

I don't just make ATCs though!  I am also an Art Journaler!  I find that working in an art journal is one of the most fun and inspiring things that I can do!

This year, for the first time, I also made my very own hand made art journal for a Round Robin Traveling Art Journal Swap.

Besides ATCs and Art Journals, I also create Mixed Media Canvases!

I feel something like an infomercial here, but that's not all!

In addition to all of those things... I have been known to make "altered" art as well!

Here are a couple of new projects that I am sharing for the first time....

I know!  I know!  I have totally bombarded y'all with far more than four projects, but I really wanted to share.  This year is all about making a beautiful mess each and every day.  I don't really need an excuse to make a mess, who does?  But this year I am making myself do something creative, weekly if not daily.  It's helping keep me sane, keep me on track, and keeping me growing as an artist and crafter.  I love crafting for a thousand reasons.  I love to craft because I love to make a mess.  I love throwing paints and ink around until something beautiful emerges.  I love teaching my children that nothing is ruined and that you don't throw everything away.  I like taking plain things and making them pretty.  I hate boring walls.  I paint so I have something to look at that is interesting.  I create because it is in me to create something.  Sometimes it's only a scribbled doodle while I am on the phone.  And sometimes that's enough.  Other times it's an elaborate art journal or a huge painting or because I want my storage boxes to be pretty as well as functional.  I craft, I paint, and I create because to not do those things hurts my soul.

I have always been an artist.  I knew the names of every single crayon in the Crayola 64 Box before I could count.  True story!  I was an artist before I was a wife and mother.  I have been an artist for my entire life and will continue to be one until the day I die.  It's such an integral part of who I am and I cannot be parted from it.

On that note, that's all I've got for today.  Wish me luck with the audition!

Happy Crafting!
