Art Challenge:  As A Layer Element

Journal Prompt:  Surviving the Elements

I cannot believe that I have actually made it a whole 10 weeks into this project.  A huge pat on the back to myself and everyone else who has made it this far!

This week I have no process pictures for you - just tons of close ups.  I had a Craft Day with my local Crafty Besties at Michael's on Tuesday and we were having so much fun that I forgot all about taking any sort of pictures!  Even of us.

So this challenge was all about making your mark.  Normally I would dive in hands first but this week I really tried to use my brayer more.  I love the grungy organic way paint behaves under a brayer.  As a "Surviving the Elements", I thought two Dylusions monsters und4er a shower of black drips is pretty "survival".  And yet, there are flowers cropping up under the gloom.  Spring is definitely in the air!

These pages really could be taken separately and I like that.  I used three different Crafter's Workshop stencils, tons of acrylic paint and washi tape, several Dylusions stamps, my trusty Uni-Ball Signo white pen, and my now beloved Stabilo pencil.  Yes, I finally got one and I love it.  Believe they hype y'all cause it's true!  I also added Glossy Accents to the eyes and buttons of my monster for that added element.  The drips are black India Ink sprayed with a little water.

This layout definitely tops my charts for favorite one so far.  There's just something about its dirty grungy feel that I am really loving!  Now to bore you to tears with too many photos!

Oh and side note - don't mind the string along the top right corner of the right page.  That's holding my page down!

Happy Crafting y'all and I'll see you next Friday for the next DLP challenge!
