Documented Life Project 2015 - The First Page

Hey y'all!

So I've been being pretty good about working in my DLP journal.  You know that funny single page at the start of all journals and books?  Yeah, usually it's the title page.  So, I figured I ought to do something to mine as well.  Plus in the Dylusions Journal, there is that odd little cardboard cover.  It needed a coat of paint for sure!!  I have yet to actually paint or doodle the front of this manilla cover or the envelope, but you get the idea.  I need to put some paint on it too!

So this is what I came up with.  I tossed paint down and just fooled around while I watched tv.  I get a lot of art done while I watch tv... or maybe that's the other way around - I watch a lot of tv while I make art!

I did not gesso either the cover or the front page.  I just slapped paint down and went to town.

I used a variety of media - acrylic paint, gelatos, oil pastels, stencils, stamps, inktense pencils, white gel pen, paint pens, and I even glued some little wooden hearts and arrows just cause!  I colored them with inktense pencils.

Really I just wanted an excuse to use my new Dylusions stamp - the girl is from the Love Struck Lucy set that a friend gave me for Christmas!  A blank page is always a perfect excuse for using a new stamp.

So I feel like I've gotten a really good start on my DLP journal.  I'm still uber excited about this project!!

Are any of y'all participating in the Documented Life Project?  I'd love to see what y'all have done!  Leave me a comment and link your journals!

Until next time,
happy creating!
