Rainbow Swap - Artist Trading Cards

I love Instagram.  There are so many talented people who share their work, their process, and their lives on there.  Most are super friendly and very helpful.  I have made a lot of new friends because of the Instagram Art Community and I hope to continue doing so.

One of my new friends is a very talented lady from Australia.  She hosted a Rainbow ATC Swap.  Each member of the swap created 7 cards (one in each color - though we did pink instead of indigo) and we all got a full set back.

These are the ones I made.

I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with these.  I knew I wanted them to be a sort of cohesive series but didn't want to do them all the same.  So I chose two small things to use on each card.

Each card had to have 1) Washi Tape (of the appropriate color family) 2) Dylusions Stamps - Clearly Alpha to stamp a word relating to the "theme" of the card.

I used a variety of materials on each card, each one a little different, but staying fairly similar.

Materials Used:

Various Patterned Paper
Various Washi Tape
Various Stamps (if you'd like to know the particular name of one, leave me a comment and I'll let you know)
Souffle Pens in all colors
Printed Dictionary Definitions
Various Stencils
Dylusions Ink Sprays
Dina Wakely Media Heavy Body Acrylic Paints
Golden Molding Paste
Distress Paints
Faber-Castell Gelatos
Ranger Archival Ink - Jet Black
Vintage Dictionary Pages

These cards were so fun to do.  The idea of a Rainbow Theme was a little daunting but I really had fun.  I even made myself a complete set to keep.
