Embrace Imperfection - a Mixed Media Canvas

Week 6 of Summer of Color is upon us.  This is the last week and  I have to say how much I have enjoyed participating in this event.  It has pushed my boundaries, made me use colors I normally wouldn't choose, and gave me an excuse to buy more supplies and try them all out!

This week's color prompts were: Raspberry, Tangerine, and a Smudge, Splash, or Pop of Lemon

I broke out another canvas for this project, and this is what I came up with:

I have to admit that I love these colors.  Between the Dylusions Ink Sprays & Distress Inks, I have played with this color combination before.  I'm usually more of a cool color gal, but I've been working on breaking out of that particular comfort zone.  And I'm thrilled with the outcome!

Of course I have a slide show of stills...

Created with flickr slideshow.

And look at me go... I even managed a video!  I didn't realize how short of a video it was going to be until I got to the last frame during editing.  Certainly shorter than my usual 20 minute videos!

I hope you enjoy watching my process!

See, I told you it was short!  Under 6 minutes!!!  Who would've thunkit?

I really really enjoyed this little canvas!  And I'm going to be using another one for my next project - my late (I just couldn't find the time) Summer of Color Week 5 piece.  Hopefully I'll have some time tonight after the baby goes to bed to be able to get that one done.

Until next time y'all!  Laters!

  3. I loved this when I opened up your blogpost, great design, use of colours, and then loved the flickr slideshow and came to your video - fabulous video, yes! I have to get some more supplies! Gelatos - yes! loved watching you make your art with so many steps and techniques and materials. Then you gave the materials list!
Wonderful, beautifully made post. I would follow you if you had a Google Friend Connect link, but I'll follow you by email. Thanks for all the information.

    1. Thank you so much Sheila! You're too kind! :) I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found the information useful! I adore my Gelatos. While I will admit to having just a wee touch of ASA, I have no qualms what-so-ever about helping feed another's need for new supplies! I used to have a Friend Connect, don't know where it went off to. But I have fixed it. I really am unsure if my email subscription works. I've signed up for my own emails and never receive them. I'll have to play around with it some more. You are always more than welcome to send me an email any time! I'd love to swap supply lists, techniques and more!

    2. Hello Brenda, I've tried to join with Friend Connect several times but it doesn't seem to work. I'll try again later.
